Baby Land, like most great things, was born out of necessity. Elina Gelfand, owner and mother of two, decided that it was about time the Northern part of Toronto had a quality baby store with proper customer service that met a mother’s needs, without forcing her to travel all over the city for baby products, through traffic, parking problems, etc. On November 11, 2006, Baby Land opened its’ doors to the public.

“When I was pregnant, I used to dread having to run from store to store with my toddler looking for quality products. I remember wishing for just one store where I could find everything. There were a few small boutiques downtown where I could find some things, but between traffic and parking, shopping became a nightmare... Having spoken to many other moms, I knew that I wasn’t alone. That’s why I decided to create Baby Land.”
